SVETLANA BIVOL, General Director
Svetlana Bivol was born in Chisinau, in 1959. She studied at the Special School of Music „Eugen Coca”, graduating violin and musicology specialties. During the years 1977-1982, she continued her education at the State Institute of Arts, specializing in musicology. Svetlana Bivol has attended many training courses in Art Management, the most important being: 1994 - Russia (Moscow State Dramatic Arts Institute); 2000 - USA; 2002 - Canada etc.
Svetlana Bivol's professional activity began in 1981, when she was employed as a musician lecturer at the National Philharmonic. At that time, she was the author and presenter of several series of radio and TV shows.
During the period 1990-1997, she was Chief of Arts and Artistic Education at the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Moldova; from 1996 to 2006, she was an expert and a member of Culture and Mass Media Committee, of the Soros Foundation – Moldova.
In the years 1997-2001, she was Director-manager at the National Opera and Ballet Theater of the Republic of Moldova. Since 2003, she has been General Director at the National Philharmonic „S.Lunchevici”. Svetlana Bivol is regularly invited as a jury member at prestigious national competitions („Tamara Ciobanu”, „Barbu Lăutaru”, and „Alexei Stârcea”) and international ones, such as „Enrico Caruzo” and „Umberto Giordani”. The activity of Svetlana Bivol as Director of the Moldovan Culture Days in Russia (1995), Belarus (1996, 2005) and Culture Days of the Republic of Belarus in Moldova (1997), the Russian Federation in Moldova (1996, 2003) was highly appreciated.
For considerable merits in the field of musical art, in 1996 Svetlana Bivol was awarded the honorary title „Maestru în Artă” and in 2011 – the title „Gloria Muncii”.
For considerable merits in the field of musical art, in 1996 Svetlana Bivol was awarded the honorary title of Master in Arts, in 2011 the „Gloria Muncii Order”, and in 2020 the „Order of Honour”.
